Wellness Cooking

Wellness doesn't need to be fancy, just faithful and friendly.

I love cooking and feeding family and friends! I especially enjoy barbequing and roasting various types of meats in my smoker. An important part of cooking most foods is maintaining a constant temperature that slowly brings the food to its final cooked state.

One of my favorites is rotisserie roast beef. I'll throw a few tri-tips on the spit in the afternoon while I'm doing some yard work and by dinner time we're set for a feast. Another family favorite is our Cafe Rio style dinners. I'll smoke some pulled pork and hours later we're in food heaven. Bringing food to its proper cooking temperature slowly always seems to bring out the best flavors.

Implementing wellness programs in the low and slow mode also brings out the best long-term sustainable results. Busy adults respond to low-stress, low-time commitment, low-effort, and low-intensity programming. A wide variety of constant programming throughout the year slowly, but surely reinforces life-long health habits. Typical wellness programs usually lack consistent programming throughout the year and only turn up the heat once a year for a personal health assessment as the gateway to high-touch, highly-tailored, high risk-based, complicated programming that few participate in.

Yes, I do smoke about once a month - doctor says it's fine!
